Clean Plants Certification
Canadian Nursery Certification Institute (CNCI)
CNLA continues working cooperatively with the Canadian Nursery Certification Institute (CNCI) to develop and administrate nursery certification programs, including Clean Plants and P. ramorum certification.
The Canadian Nursery Certification Institute (CNCI) was created to help the nursery industry meet the need for industry-developed and delivered certification programs in response to the ongoing threats posed by invasive and quarantine pests. The immediate need for a certification institute was driven by the P. ramorum crisis faced by the nursery industry in British Columbia beginning in 2004.
CNCI’s role is to administer certification programs and provide third-party audits. Program development is the industry's responsibility, typically cooperating with the national or provincial trade association. The CNCI is a Canadian Nursery Landscape Association committee, with oversight provided by an Executive Committee.
