Anita is an owner and the manager of Eagle Lake Nurseries Ltd., a second-generation farm that produces trees, shrubs and perennials for the prairie market, on over 1000 acres of land in the Strathmore area. Anita has been at the nursery for over 25 years, but like most farm children started working on the farm at a young age taking on daily chores and duties.
Anita studied horticulture at the University of Guelph, where she graduated with her Associate Diploma in Horticulture, and she is also a Certified Landscape Horticulture Apprentice. Anita is the Past President of Landscape Alberta and a past provincial representative on the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association Board. Currently, she is the Chair of Growers Canada and represents the Nursery industry on the CNLA board. She is also an active member of the Canadian Nursery Certification Institute and the Alberta Nursery Producers Group.
